We are trialling a new way to communicate with you, we understand that as your children get older they are involved in more and given different opportunities and learning experiences.
Each Monday you will receive an email outlining what is happening and who it involves.
The first one was sent today, if you have not received it, it may be because we have your email incorrect so please let us know.
We would appreciate any feedback on how this is working/ helping, anything we could add or if you need your email updated.
Our emails are: aleisha@southmak.school.nz

Hockey and Netball Parents

Thank you to all the parents who are helping with our sports teams this year, without you our students would not be able to play!

Following are some opportunities to help you grow your skills in each code:

Netball

Umpiring course: 10.30 am, Saturday 8 May, Netball courts.

Please let me know asap if you would like to attend. It would be great to have as many netball parents come to this as possible. We need people to train as umpires because if we don’t have umpires for games they will not earn points in their respective grades.

Hockey

“In the Know” Forums
One representative per every school team is asked to attend only one of the two sessions: Tuesday 11th 7 pm or Wednesday 12th 5 pm – both to be held at Marton School. You are very welcome to send more than 1 rep per team – this session will be very informative for parents and caregivers also!
Material will include -:
– On the same page: Expectations of our Coaches/Managers
– Good Sports and Balance is Better
– Clarification, only if required, of the rules of each grade
– Health & Safety including Covid preparedness
– HNZ’s newly released On-line Coaching Portal and Resource Hub
– Coaching hints, catchy phrases and hints
If you are down as a support person for your child’s team: Please let me know which meeting you wish to attend.
If you are an interested parent/caregiver: Please let me know which meeting you would like to attend.
It would be great to have as many hockey parents come to this as possible.
